However, even though many of the developed nations have the programs in place to welcome skilled immigrants and refugees from other countries, the immigrants do not always feel at home in the new countries.

It is because many of the migrants in the United States have been reporting increased judicial bias against them and many have also been wrongfully arrested.

There is a reason why migrants do not want to stay in their country and want to go to developed nations. And, when they become part of the country they move to, they also contribute to the development of the host country’s economy.

In the United States, immigrants constitute a considerable portion of the country’s population. However, racial disparity does exist even in the developed countries like the United States, and it is what has astonished the human rights associations across the globe.

In Arizona, many of the Mexican immigrants have been suffering at the hands of the police department wrongfully for many years, and while some cases of human rights abuse are reported, most of them go unnoticed. To address this crisis, Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey-based in Arizona, have been working for long.

Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey run the popular independent newspapers in Arizona, namely Phoenix New Times and Village Voice Media. Through their media outlets, they have been reporting the mismanagement in the administration under the supervision of Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

However, to suppress their voice and independent reporting that raised valid questions about the government and the way it functions, they were arrested from their home in the wee hours of the morning by Joe Arpaio. There was no valid reasoning behind the arrest, and it was proved by the judgment given by the court as well.

They were released within 24 hours of arrest due to the outcry among the general masses against the administration and the sheriff. Once released, they filed the lawsuit against the state and won it after a lengthy legal battle.

Joe Arpaio is one of the most controversial sheriffs in the country and is charged on many other accounts. Jim Larkin and Michael Lacey along with winning the legal battle against the state also received $3.75 million in the settlement, which they used to create Frontera Fund.

It is a fund that would help in providing legal assistance to the migrants and helping rehabilitate many immigrants who are suffering due to the wrongful cases against them by the Sheriff department.

The Frontera Fund would also be used to uphold the First Amendment Rights of the citizens, which is what forms the basis of the constitution of the country.

How did Frontera Fund and Front Page Confidential Come to Exist?

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were unlawfully arrest by Joe Arpaio back in 2007. Lacey and Larkin were arrested for writing about Arpaio in their newspaper. This is yet another instance of Joe Arpaio’s criminal activity during his time as Sheriff of Maricopa County.

Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were writers and co-owners of The Phoenix New Times, the Arizona newspaper that was conducting investigations into Joe Arpaio’s immoral behavior. When the duo were arrested, their peers stood up for them; paperrs like The Washington Post and The New York Times published stories relating to Lacey and Larkin’s illegal detainment.

It was a long legal battle, but eventually Michael Lacey and Jim Larkin were awarded a near 4 million dollar settlement.

The journalists, by using the money given to them in the settlement, have founded The Frontera Fund and Front Page Confidential.

The Frontera Fund donates money to charities that benefit Hispanic and Hispanic-Americans. The Latino people of Arizona have had to suffer from the racial hatred of Arpaio for many years, so now Lacey and Larkin are working to counteract the damage. The Frontera Fund also donates money to some wider reaching charities.

Front Page Confidential is a less altruistic effort but just as noble. Its intention is to provide educational material that concerns corruption in politics. The paper also writes about instances of civil rights violations.
